Well, Northern Vermont woke up to frozen ground and 6 in. of fluffy snow. Not great riding snow, but enough to cover the grass in the back field so I couldn't resist. As most of you know I went to the BOSS highrise widetop, 8 in. art riser and Cat bars over the Summer. Along with a complete Pioneer Performance rear shock / spring package for the old Pro Action skid. Results: Why the hell did I pound my back with the stock crappy seat and suspension for 2 years??? The BOSS seat is awesome, and the Pioneer set up is a whole bunch better then stock. The rear is actually softer with the shocks / springs calibrated to my weight and riding style, but packs up quick and doesn't even come close to bottoming in the bumps. Also, I seem to have a lot more transfer now. Might have been the frozen ground, but felt more like the rear suspension wasn't as bound up; felt less coupled???. I also went through the entire skid and replaced every bushing and bearing, so that may be it as well. The Cat bars are awesome and give you A LOT more purchase on the front end of these big beasts. I can stand easily now with the taller bars and seat, and its much easier to slide forward AND turn at the same time without the bars poking you in the ribs. The riser almost feels a little tall, but its so nice to be able to stand staight up, and have the bars at your hips, not your knees. The only downfall I see, is that the taller position does make the sled a little more tippy. I think if I pull the limiters upa little more I can take some of it out. Can't really tell until we get a good base, and some more snow, but I like it so far! Forecast says 6 - 8 in. more tomorrow. Oh yeah .

Rutland is 100 miles south of me. I think we got hit harder here then they did. It was marginal here and if I didn't have a freshly mowed hay field to ride in, I wouldn't have tried it.
