I am biting the bullet and replacing the track on my stock Apex Mountain (2006). If the masses had the option would you all go for the 16" wide or 15" wide track. Both are the camo extreme with 2.5" profile height. I am 6' at 210 lbs and mostly ride flatland and boondocking. Not much for hillclimbing. The price difference is $70 which isn't a big deal. Will I lose too much power with the 16" wide track? Or will I be able to spin it without too much trouble? I don't plan on adding any more horsepower to the sled.

Thanks

One more piece to this puzzle, the 15" wide track is the new single ply construction, while the 16" is the older model no longer available. Since the 15" has small drive lugs to accommodate the new M series Cats does that mean I will also need to change out my drivers?

Right on, so far I have ordered the 2 wheel kit, the track and some avid drivers. I can't bring myself to get a different sled when this one runs so well. Just needs to be a little lighter. Hopefully these mods with the addition of an exhaust from excell at some point will really help out.

Glad that I am not the only one 15 wide camo on the Apex , it just works awsome. Just in the process of fitting a alpha X skid under her as well.

cheers...............

Awesome! I'm glad I didn't make a boneheaded decision. The exhaust and rear skid are the last 2 things I need to tackle, and it seems that between them there is almost 60 lbs to be lost.
