I need some opinions,
I am having trenching issues in just about any kind of snow. I can't afford to put on a new skid and a new track this year so I was hoping to find a 151x16x2 track (hopefully good used) and put it on. The only one I can find is off a Skidoo Rev. Is there a reason I shouldn't do this? I am hoping to put in a M7 skid next year when I have more money but I would really like to stay with the 151 track for boondocking.

Thanks

Everyone says a 151x16 has a similar footprint to a 159x15, but when it comes to staying on top in the deep, it doesn't seem to float the same. Nothing scientific, but it sure seems that way. Secondly, everyone says length hurts boondocking, but the added flotation seems to help boondocking. You can go slower without getting stuck. Crawl with confidence.

I changed from 151x15x2 to 162x15x2,25 this year - just like a new sled. I use the sled for boondocking and trail.

It's feels way better in the snow now - espesially when you have to go slow. It floats so much better when going slow.

I tried a OEM Rx-1M with 151 after I did may track change - I now one thing for sure; I don't miss the 151 track.

I just went from a 151 x 15 to a 159 x 16 this winter. It's an absolute night and day difference. The sled now floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.
I used a Skidoo Rev Challenger Lite 2 1/4" factory ported track. You can find one on Snowest's swap meet for $300-$400 shipped. You won't have to change drivers and only need rail extensions.

I like the change so much that I'm even thinking of going to a 162 x 16 x 2.5" for next year. Then I'll need new drivers and a new track.

If you buy my track it would make my decision much easier. LaLaLa

Best of luck

Frosty
