I'm riding a stock 2009 Nytro MTX at 5-6000'.
I'm using the stock 8FS00 weights with .8g in outer hole, 3.1g in both the center and inner hole.
I've got a blue-brown-blue primary spring and am running 20/40 gears.
Engagement is 33-3400.
Everthing else is stock setting & spec.
Sled works real good, pulls hard in middle and top end rpms are right around 8850.

But, bottom end seems jerky. It's real hard to just feather the throttle and work your way through a tight spot. It wants to jump from engagement up to 45-5000 rpm real quick.
Maybe it's me. Rode 2-strokes for 30 years, this is my first 4-stroke.

When I was talking about this at the local dealership a young fella offered his fix.........., "drop in some 14.5 rollers".

Anyone heard this before?

The smaller rollers will really lower your engagement but also rpm,s; especially at lower speeds. I might only go as small as 15mm rolers.

Maybe it's not clutching

I was reading another post over on the Nytro Mountain forum and they were talking about a stumble or a stutter or ???? at a low throttle position.

Have you heard anything like that? Again, stock sled.

I've read and talked with many guys running the smaller rollers, I believe Hartman runs them also? The theory being the 4 stroke saves gas and has a smoother launch by starting at lower engagement and the higher tork affords us this ability? PowderMuncher swears by it on his Apex Mnt. , I haven't switched yet but plan to in the future after hearing the great results. He runs lower elevation nothing higher then 6000 feet, not sure if this makes a difference.
