- 2003 Yamaha RX1 Mountain
I've just recently acquired an 03 RX1 Mountain overall in pretty good condition. It's got 3400 miles. I need to find a few parts to really get it dialed in. Some should be pretty easy to find, like a windshield, but two that I'm having a hard time finding are the reverse gear kit and a 2-up seat. Other parts I'm looking for are a pintle hitch receiver, headlight cover (triangle trim piece where windshield and gauges mount) and that windshield. Anyone have any of these they're looking to sell or know a place I can look? I'm based in Bethel, AK but frequent Anchorage and will be in the lower 48 this summer. TIA

welcome!
kimpex made a replacement mask, ls, rs and centre gauge mount for these. i used them on my old 05 rx war when brother that bought it hit another sled and destroyed everything but the gauge when he hit another sled in a whiteout.
most used a seat jack for 2 up riding on the rs/rx sleds.
the reverse kit should be the same as a rx 1, rs and venture sled as long as it has a stock chain case. a few where dropped and rolled for clearance.
a suggestion for the wind sheild for primarily trail use, you can put one from a carb rs venture as it is taller and will block more wind.
the red rx warrior is the sled i used all the above parts on in the picture.

thanks for all this insight maim! Super helpful. I’ll look into these.
Found a few reverse kits on eBay, could you let me know if you think they’ll work? I haven’t looked at the chain case on my sled yet

One thing to keep in mind is that with those reverse kits you linked to, they are the complete chain case halves and all the supporting hardware. Unless you are wanting to keep your existing chain case for spare parts, a lot of what you have can be reused. What you are wanting to do to your 03 RX-1 Mountain is exactly what I did to my black 03 RX-1 and that was add reverse. For whatever reason, Yamaha only offered reverse in the red and blue 03 RX-1's as well as the silver LE but I wanted black so just added it after the fact. Of the two chain case halves, only the outer cover is different; the half that bolts to the bulkhead is the same. Along with the reverse handle and linkage, the only internal differences were the two reverse gears, washers and that little spring and then the bottom gear was swapped out for a reverse bottom gear along with the longer chain. I bet if Travis of Barn of Barns has any leftover RX-1's parts, he could probably piece the parts you need possibly at a cheaper price point. Might at least be worth a call/PM.
