I have raced my cousin on his 04 f7 and can beat him from the start, in the middle, and at the top end. We have raced under many conditions with the same result. He won't race me any more. I have also raced my friend on his 800 renegadeand the only condition that I loose is when we race on deep powder from a standing start.

Good Luck!
Yesterday, I went to the Yamaha dealer to get parts, and there was a guy there who's been killing Apex's on top with a F7. Not just his words, my dealer backd him up because of the reports he's had from Apex owners.
He says all he has is "clutch mods, and studs." He did admit to loosing the hole and not being as strong in the mid-range, but he has no problem reeling them in. Hmmmmm?
Anyway, I told him that if we ever meet on the trail, we should find a spot to line-up. Shouldn't be too hard to miss him, it's a YELLOW F7.

There is a company that is remachining the clutches(just rear clutch I think) and putting a polaris belt in for the f7 with the diamond drives and gaining back the top end AC lost with diamond drives,or some of it anyhow. That probaply what he meant by clutch mods.My buddy is a cat nut thats how I know.

A ODS clutched, PAC system and 2 degree timing key F7 with a 1" track will beat an Apex. Now depending on the hole shot, the Apex can hold it off until the big end, but the F7 will evetually go buy the Apex. Now a clutched and geared Apex, I believe will beat that particular F7 setup. But a stock for stock, the Apex should win. The 05 F7's either way are no contest. They just don't have the top end. I was speaking of an 03 or 04 F7 with a 1" track.

thats the one i beat sledfreak. It has the 1" track 2004 EFI stock. No match for the apex that day at least in all kinds of conditions. I think the only year that would have a chance would be an 03.

My friend spoke with the guy 2 weeks ago and his machine is broken. What they are doing is changing the driven to an older style. Something about not having enough spring tension to squeeze the belt. Not sure if I got this backwards but they are either installing a key way or machining in splines to get it to mate to the Diamond Drive shaft. Than using a slightly longer belt.

I lost to it on top and just before a 100 mph. Out fo the hole I can take it, it just pulls past me after 80mph and beats me by 3 sled lengths and I doubt you raced it because my buddy only raced me so far with his 04.y_guy said:thats the one i beat sledfreak.
