The biggest problem I have with my RX1 and Warrior is their tippiness. The ski is always popping up in the turns. The 2005 RS Venture appears to have the same front end as the RX1/Warrior. So my question is whether the RS Venture is also tippy like the RX, OR does it have the more reasonable stability of the Venture 600/700? Regardless, I'm probably going to trade in my Venture 700 for this puppy.

Apearances can fool ya. It's a new front end geometry, and wider stance to boot.

I'd snatch up the RS Venture in heartbeat if I could, I think it'd be great for back country stuff...

Saw Venture

I went to the Yamaha open house in Lebanon NH and saw the Venture there. Very impressed with the layout. Lots of room for both driver and passenger. Passenger seat comes off and a knapsack style bag clips into place for storage. Also there are two snap-on side bags for more storage. With 144" of track on the ground, it looks like it could go anywhere. Great color too - candy apple red. I am sno-checking on this year. Not sure about stability issues, but it looked like it had the same front end as the Warrior.

even then, it's always 2 steps forward, 1 backward. For the Venture, wouldn't it have been smarter to bury the exhaust? I like the wind block of my Venture 600/700. This windshield is a little lower. And lastly, my beef, sight unseen, is the fuel tank size. My beggest pet peeve with sleds is gassing up. Returning the 12 gallon tank would have been a better option to the 10 gallon reduction. Venture owners would then have bragging rights to a range that no other sled could match without piggyback tanks.

Anyway, it looks like a home run, but not a grand slam. Of course, if someone hit a grand slam, there would be no need for an encore or for us to bitch about what we want.

Looking to get the 05 RS Venture for the Mrs. One Problem - I don't think it's going to fit in the trailer. 127 inches long?? Did they add a caboose or what? :?

I think I'll be trading my 2000 Venture 600 but my only beef is that the gas tank is too small!!!!!! Everything else is bang on, longer track, lighter, hopefully better on gas. Why couldn't they give us the same as the old Venture. If it is better on gas than the RX1 then it may not be a big deal. I do most of my riding off trail. Carrying gas is a pain in the #*$&@. I'm always carrying 5 gallons on my venture now to top up my RX1 Mountain...........
