decided to pull out my fathers 2005 RX Warrior in Candy Apple Red out of storage. Going to change the battery, oil and look things over. Bought an Alex seat, Nytro gas tank shroud, change the wiring plug for the rear tail light. Go through the clutch’s and change the chain case oil/ tighten tensioner if needed.

I forgot we threw a 136 M-10 suspension in that from FAST back in 2007 and Ohlins front shocks. Brand new 1.25 ice ripper only has 600 miles on it.

Going to make it a summer project and ride it next season. Buying a new sled and upgrading every 3 or 4 years isn’t in the cards now, especially with kids. I’ll keep the mileage down on my XRS Backcountry and Lynx 900R

Any other things I should check? Hasn’t been on the snow in 10 or 12 years.

Does anyone know of someone who has a Excell, MBRP or other exhaust for sale. Would like to have it to throw on once in a while Thx

Do you know if the carbs were drained prior to storage? Other than going thru the carbs, everything else you mention doing sounds like a good start. It would also be worth checking the current oil level using the dipstick (without starting) to see if any oil registers at all. IRC, there were posts on here about oil seeping out of the oil tank and into the motor during extended periods of storage.

brother ran mbrp for awhile on the 05 rx warrior i sold him when it broke the pipes by muffler when tunnel to bulkhead rivits came loose. they are fine when new but once it burned in, none of us could stand it and he bought a new stock 03 rx1 muffler for it as the 05 had titanium exh on them and we could not find someone local to weld it.

Thank you! Great information as always. When I had my two Apex’s, this crew was always helpful and informative.

I really do wish Yamaha made snowmobile's still, I’m thinking about picking up a 998 Turbo in an AC chassis. Not in the budget right now. The motors built by Yamaha are so awesome and fun to run. Thank again.

I’ll post some pictures of the 05 Warrior during the summer as I work on it
