2006 ATTAK hard to start!!!

my 2006 attak has had a few problems this season , sled has trouble starting, takes like maybe 60 seconds to get the thing to fire!! took it to the dealer twice and each time i took it there the sled starts like it would normally!! one time have waited a few minutes and tried startin it again and would finally start. now once its warmed up and have gone for a ride starts fine no problems for the rest of the day/weekend!! sled has about 4000kms on it. fuel pump u can hear fire up when you turn the key to "on". its like itS not gettin gas? the motor doesn't turn over as fast as it use to . seems like there not enuff juice to crank the motor over? almost like theres something takin the batterys energy when i turn the key. when i turn the key the sled almost sounds like it only using 20% of the normal starting power!! even when the temperature is -2' C !!
any ideas? BATTERY OR STARTER OR ???

Well on my 06 I think it's starting to turn over a little slower especially when it's really cold out -10 or worse. On those days sometimes it takes three times before it will catch and start so I'm planning on putting a new Battery in before next season. Just my opinion

My '06 Attak still has the original battery and I've never used a tender/ trickle charger. During the off season I fire it up once every 2-3 weeks and let it run for a while.
I would try fuel injector cleaner and make sure the air intake is clean. Fill it up and put a bottle of Iso-Heat in it.

Hard Start

May want to check your donuts on your exhaust. Mine was starting hard and then it started backfiring on deaccelleration. Had it checked and donuts are shot and both pipes are cracked. Now it will barely start at all. Still waiting for backordered pipes and watching my buddies ride.

hoping its a crappy battery!!! gonna hook up my deep cycle boat battery to it tonite and see if it starts better!!

anybody know how to get at the battery on this sled , see that i have to remove the air box, any easy way of doin this?

No easy way. You just have to rip it apart. Do you testing BEFORE ripping it apart. Battery leads are above the oil tank. Hook them into a nice big battery and see if it starts properly.

Ya tried a trolling motor battery last nite and fired the sled right up and was turning the motor alot faster, got battery out last nite and only problem was the trim on the handle bars one of threaded inserts was stripped ,but managed to get it off. ordered battery and should be good to go in about an hour, then should be good for the last ride of the year possibly. thanks

Geeze, its a shame to set up a new battery for just the last ride. I would be inclined to rape a battery out of something else (ie, borrow a battery from a buddy's 2-smoke that has a pull string, your ATV, etc.) or just live with it. Thats one year off the life of the new battery for just one ride. I had the same issue at the end of the summer -- battery finished dying on my SuperJet, bought a new battery, decided not to add the acid until its time to use it this summer (I never accept a battery that already has the acid in it - never know whats been done with it or if its used/defective, etc.).

LOL , yeah everything seems to work out like that for me. broke down and bought a new battery from the dealer. cost 130 bucks for the darn thing, as long as it lasts next season too. oh well should have a good long weekend up in north bay , burks falls area!! now i know how to take everything apart for oil changes. i guess i could have jumped it from the kitty cats, jsut didnt want to go through all the trouble and embarassment!!!
