I have a 2006 Attak with about 7K miles on it. I took it up to Canada to ride this weekend, and had an issue. After putting on about 250 flawless miles, I brought it to the garage to park for the night. Right before I pulled it in, I killed it to help a friend out. A few minutes later, when I tried to start it, I got nothing. The engine turned over, the fuel pump cycled.. just like normal, but nothing happened as far as firing.
About a half hour later, I tried again. This time, it sputtered, like it was going to start. After I let off the key, I tried again, and it started. I ran it for about 3 minutes and shut it down for the night. I just chalked it up to be a fluke.
The next morning, when I went to go riding, (300 mile loop planned), the same thing happened, but this time, the sled did not start at all.
I ended up spending the day troubleshooting with no luck at all. All the sled does not is spit and sputter when I turn the key.. almost seems like it is back firing. I am looking for help. Here is what I have done so far:
1. Checked the relays. They all work. I swapped them all with my buddies Apex that ran. My fuel pump works.. I can hear the return line spit fuel back into the tank.
2. Pulled the 2 easy plugs... They were both a nice brown color.. which means to me that they must be good still.. right?
3. Bypassed the TORS.. no dice.
4. Drove back home to NY early, because my sled won't start.
My plan tomorrow is to pull all the plugs and replace them. I really dont see what that is going to buy me, though.. since the 2 I pulled looked good. Could it be a bad tank of gas, ecu, something else?
PM/email/respond to this post.. I am at a loss right now. I am trying to keep positive on this one.. I really want to love my sled, but this one hurt....Thanks for all of your help...

How old is the battery. If the battrey is off peak by a half a bolt they will not run.

New this season. I also failed to mention that I tried a different battery (from a sled that ran) with no luck as well.

I'm experiencing similar issues after I was forced to use 87 octane gas because there was no other options. Rode fine for about 150 miles after and went through at least half a tank of premium after the bad gas, and used seafoam as well and still nothing. I tried swapping the fuel tank as I had one from my old sled laying around and nothing, changed all the plugs and nothing. So if you figure it out, please let me know and I'll do the same.

Yeah... got her running this past Saturday. It was the Stator.... but probably the Stator Pickup. Testing the new stator vs. the old one, on my meter, the resistances were the same. However, the pickup tested open circuit on the old and ~480ohms on the new one. After I got it back together, she fired right up like nothing ever happened.
