I am going to look at a 2006 Attak this afternoon. Is there anything I should be on the lookout for? I know about the exhaust donuts as I helped my brother in law change his last weekend on his Apex.

Thanks,
Brian

Front suspension arm. Other than that look at the normal things that pertain to a used sled like clutches, track ,shocks, front A-arm bushings, etc...

by front suspension arm he means in the rear skid. it is prone to break near the welds they updated the part to be stronger. also check for cracked rails.

ask about the bearings at the speed sensor and the driven clutch or jack shaft on clutch side. should have been greased regularly.

Thanks everyone. I will let you know how it goes.

Sled is in really good shape. Exhaust sounds good. No leaks. Has power commander and HID headlights. Has a newer track (its been replaced). All welds are good, no cracking. Some minor rusting on the front of the rear suspension.

Only real concern is the rear shocks feel like they need a rebuild/revalve.

Does $3400 seem like a good value?

Get ice scratchers installed. Unless you have good powder conditions all times they will over heat easy.
yami didn't install rear coolers until 09. But you can add one. They aren't cheap. $300. But easy to put in.
You can get one here. http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/y ... 00-00.html

I picked up a low mileage Attak last spring for $3800.00. I have been very happy with my purchase. Getting the sled for a descent price has allowed me to spend money on upgrades. The beauty of the older Apexs and Attaks is there is a ton of parts available for them at reasonable prices.

I got my second one (07)late last season with 800 miles on it. I took all the upgrades I had in the old 07 and transfered them over. SS pipes,W arm upgrade, wheels, etc. I paid $5600 for it and sold my old one for $3500 so I'm in a new sled cheap.
