So I was out on a ride today, and noticed my exhaust note had changed, especially at idle. (had ridden about 10 miles) Ended up stopping and checking things out, and the middle cylinder isn't running. (I was able to unplug that coil pack with zero change.) Tried swapping the plugs as well as the coil packs, and the problem remains on the center cylinder. All plugs look entirely normal. It still runs/idles fine and no other strange noises.
I haven't officially verified compression, but I did remove all the plugs, listen to it spin over, and then compared it with just a plug in one side cylinder, and then lastly one plug in the center cylinder only. At least from that highly unscientific test, the sound and load on the starter was equal with the plug in any cylinder. (yeah, my compression tester was way too big to fit in the yamaha's plugs!)
Any guesses? I just verified that there is spark on the center cylinder (was hoping there wasn't, that would be an easier fix!) So at this point, it either has to be fuel related, or compression/valves.

Update:
Took a spray bottle filled with gas, and when I spray it down the throat of the middle carb, the cylinder picks up and runs for a couple seconds until its out of gas...
So, guess the carbs will be coming off! Still have to figure out how the 2 fuel pumps feed 3 carbs, but I'm guess that is pretty obvious once they are off...

Yep, when in doubt, clean the carbs! I've never had a carb plug up after a couple miles of running, but there is a first for everything I guess!
Gave the carbs a thorough cleaning, and just got back from a 30 mile ride with zero issues! (except that it is almost 50 degrees and the snow is melting from under me...)
