I have an '07 Attak GT (with Ohlins EC). I havent ridden it yet, but I am on the fence about swapping out the rear shock spring, for a heavier one, so I get it out of the way before the snow starts flying. I weigh about 215lb w/gear and ride very aggressive/hard. Is it reccommended I swap the stocker out for a heavier spring? If so, what spring rate should I go with? Did they revalve the rear shock and put a heavier spring in the '07's? As I heard there were problems with the '06 Apex GT's equipped with Ohlins EC(too soft). Thanks.
Do yourself a favor, send both the shock with spring out to bruce at pioneer performance and have it revalved for your weight, and let him decide if you need the extra spring,he just did both of our apex rtx and er sleds,my boy weighs about your weight and he put on my 5.0kg from my attak and i weigh 240 and he did it up with the 6.5kg spring plus valving,we both ride agressive, but i ride even more agressive than my son does, and my little buddy blew his er shock out last winter, yammi sent him a new shock, but with the old valving from 06 and he already had the 5.5 spring on,and he would still bottom bad,so now he is sending it out to pioneer as well..
