My dealer told me today that my 07 Atak GT will come with the same spring as the 06 Apex GT. He also showed me the 06 manual which states the spring can be adjusted to my weight of 300 +/- lbs..
Does anyone know if this is true? Everything I have read seems to indicate that I will need a heavier spring, and possibly a shock revalve to achieve the best ride.
If I do need the changes, I'd just as soon have them done prior to taking delivery of the sled. Help me out here guys. What do you think? Also, if I should make changes, what spring and valve?

Your weight combined with the longer skid of the Attak will for sure need a stiffer spring than the -06 Apex GT. Though, I am not sure that your info about the -07 Attak GT getting the same spring as the -06 Apex GT is correct.
I can only give you advices based on my own setup. I am 100 kg (220 lbs) and ride a lot of rough trails with a -06 RX Warrior (european name for Attak). I found a very good setup in Ohlins european aftermarket setup combined with a 80 N/mm (8.1 kg/mm / 457 lbs/inch) spring.

The 2007 Attak GT has an all new calibration for valving. The spring is heavier than th 2006 Apex GT and it is heavier than the 2006 Attak. I wil try to find out the weight from my buddy the Yamaha rep. I think it is a 6.5. He said the Attak GT is still comfortable but is noticeably stiffer than the Apex GT. I do not know what the setting is in Sweden, but all springs for Sweden are heavier than US and Canada.

Who are you buying your sled from? Wilson's set mine up without changing the spring. It felt alot better but then again i only put alittle more than 60 miles on it. That was after the canada trip.

RXL95,
I ordered it from Gary at Wilsons. I had originally told him I wanted it with the heavier spring, and valved appropriately for my weight, and he was checking with the factory to see how the 07 would be set up. He called me the other day and told me what I posted above. After reading the post by DELTABOX above, I don't know what to think. Gary says he got his info. from Yamaha?????
I guess I'm just going to have to wait and see.
By the way, I'm going to be setting up another club trip to Canada for this winter. Maybe we can get the old man and a few others to come this time.
