2007 RS Venture GT

I am thinking about selling my 2000 Venture and buying a 2007 Venture GT, the dealer does not have one on the showroom floor yet so I havn't been able to see one up close..I was wondering if the back seat was removeable when solo riding ??Did Yamaha build the 2007 with hopes of getting rid of the track howl and hyfax problems ??? I like to ice fish too how are there sleds in deep snow and slush ?? I ride in some cold weather -25 -40 will starting be a problem ?? I have read alot of comments on the Venture and now I am considering putting money down this week, just looking for last minuite opinions.. Thanks very much!!!!

The '07 RS Venture GT has a removable rear seat. As for track howl cures, I can't tell you as I have yet to ride this sled one inch. The track has been modified over earlier Ventures in that every window has been opened up and every third window has been clipped. Time will tell if these changes address the problem.

Also, an extra set of idler wheels have been installed just forward of the rear wheels. This should also help with hyfax wear and maybe track howl.

I never had a problem starting my sled in those temps, but you could always install the coolant line heater for peace of mind.

The skis also look larger than last years, which should help with the deeper snow. Stay out of the slush, that's no fun.

I noticed the TF model had the new smaller wheels, I think thats because of the flip up track on that model..What I have seen in the GT photos there is no extra wheels..

Anyways I have shopped around for the last couple of days, and my dealer is giving me the best deal , so I tiold them I would buy, as long as I liked what it looked like in person..I have not seen one except for photos....It should be put together by tuesday..So I might tbe a true 4 stroker next week yee ha ....

I stand corrected the Venture GT has 2 sets of new idle wheels to help Hyfax wear..I finally seen one on the dealer floor, and I bought it should be ready by wednesday.. I love the machine the only thing I didn't like is the wider skis on the front, they will be great for power, but I wonder how they will be on the trail???

I'd prefer to have the wider skis, the benefits would certainly outweigh the negative of having a narrower ski. I don't think you'll lose any turning ability with the wider ski.

The Venture is by no means a high performace sport sled. It's for touring.

I don't totally agree with your last statment Grimm..I know that the Venture is no Apex, but with 120 hp, HPG clicker shocks and a 144 ripsaw this sled should have decent performance and a good ride for solo riding too..Pretty much a Rage GT with a 2 up seat..The reson I bought the Venture is because I have 2 boyz 4 and 8 and they love sleds as much as I do they ride with me most of the time ....

My brother has just bought a Venture GT also. Yesterday I looked at the track and noticed that the track windows are also larger widthwise, at least in comparison to the Ripsaw on my Vector. Was it always that way on the Ventures?

Combining that with an all open windowed track and extra idler wheels, it seems that Yamaha is addressing the problems of excessive slider wear.

i would have to disagree with grimm as well as this sled is a great 2 up touring sled, but boot the ole lady off remove the seat and this sled will rail in the corners as solo tourer, i was very impresed with my 1st ride on my 06 venture, it put a huge smile on my face
