This was my friends mountain Apex today, he burnt a belt near the top of a short steep hill. (1000 miles on the sled) We put the new belt on, I worked it to the top and it still slipped a lot. We back the machine down
and fought it in the gully to get it turned, just couldn't hit the gas without smoking the new belt. Now it was 34 or 35 degrees so pretty warm out. The belt finally took and chirps at idle now. Should we look for problems
with the clutch or just service it as normal for the seasons end? I know a new tight belt can chirp.

the new belt is probably short, and because of this it wont go to the top of the secondary. this starts the sled off in high gear making it burn. remove the secondary and on the back are 3 8mm bolts. there are washers under each that can be removed, so that when reinstalling bolts it forces the sheaves apart, and stops the chirping.
