I lost the right side rear outside idler wheel on my nytro. I have a new one and followed advice on here and removed the left side wheel and driving the shaft out to the right with a dowel to maintain the position of everything. I now have the inside of the bearing that I cannot remove off the shaft. I believe the bolt (17mm) on the right is part of the shaft? am I correct that I need to remove this inside part of the bearing and press the new right side wheel all the way across the shaft? I have soaked everything in pb blaster overnight and I am hoping that breaks the bearing free or I will have to cut it.

I am quite sure that you are talking about the 7" guide wheels on the very back, so that bearing should be loose and the new wheel slide on easily. Blaster is good, put the nut back on the other end to protect the threads and try tapping the bearing towards the nut end. Any heat on the bearing should help. 17mm is part of the shaft.

If iam reading you right - the wheel is off but the bearing is stuck to the shaft?
If that is the case things have to be really corroded or bound on there?
I think you have two options:
1- if you are unwilling to drop the skid, maybe a slide hammer puller with 3 jaws can crab the out race and pull it off. Use a heat gun and pentrating oil.
2- the easiest is to release the torsion springs and drop the rear of the skid so all tension is off. Pull the rear shaft out and press the bearing off.

I believe ds661 has successfully slipped the axle out but has the inner piece of the bearing likely rusted on to the axle.
Ds661, if you have not done it already, buy the left wheel also if you think it is the original. They likely had the non serviceable bearings, and now are disintegrating. The middle wheel may still have life in it if it has the serviceable bearing that you can take the circlip off, remove the seal, blow out the old grease, and put new grease in.

Sorry for the late reply. I am new to the forum thing. gitrdun was right. I had the inner part rusted onto the shaft. I used pb blaster and once it broke free it was no problem removing.
Sorry for not getting back. I appreciate the help.
