2008 NYTRO SKID RELOCATE

You guys have similar machines to mine. I just bought a 156x16x2.5 Camoplast for my 08 Nytro MTX 40th, but it seemed pretty snug for the tunnel (the stock track's only 15' wide). Would a different style rear bracket fix this?
Also, I wasn't able to get the track tight enough with the assembly it has stock. Should I get a bigger wheel kit? From what I'm reading, it may be worthwhile to upgrade the whole suspension from the stock one I have now. I do a mix of mountain riding and ditch-baggin in the prairies.

how much slack do you have? you could bigger wheels on the back and you could put bigger upper idlers wheels on the top. There is a front cooler mod that would allow 8 tooth drivers as well.

Yes i believe the timbersled or the kmod brackets would give the room i am not positive though.

why no turbo rlcofmn?

i thought about header, muffler, k&n and fuel controller but by the time you add up the dollars there well you are half way to a turbo.

may as well get the mcx 180 and call it a day!!!

I am a jumper and like to do a lot of technical in and out of the throttle riding. Stock throttle response is not good enough for me let alone adding any turbo lag at all. I would love another 10-20 HP but its just not in the cards for me with a 4 stroke.

if you set the skid back make sure and get an antistab kit. If your needing more power and dont want a turbo the BossNoss kit is amazing. I personally raised by skid in the front 3/4" and set it back 1" and aligned the rear to corrispond to the front. have 16.5" floats in the front. and raised the limiter on the TS to the 5th hole. its working really well and side x side comparison my approach is about the same as an 08 m8 and xp. thinking about getting the 8 tooth drivers to give me that little extra edge but i already removed my rad and im not sure if i could lose the front cooler as well. this is with a Power Addiction tunnel

ts make it worse because of the bolts a stock track can clip them

Aaen claims 14hp increase with their header and muffler. k&n ulmer claims 5-6 increase low-mid should techinically be close to what you are looking for.

phil you forget we are in alaska most of the time elevation is not a problem.

i think the highest we could ever get is 6000 ft i have never personally been that high. I think highest i have been is 5500 most of time riding 2-4

i am also with rlcofmn, i am a tree rider not big into the hill climbs. I probed once for someone that kinda turned me off to the agressive hill climbs

That is some impressive numbers by Aaen!!! But can you make it a complete exhaust system from your head to the turn out complete weighing 7.5 lbs? :)

I would be interested in getting mine on a dyno to see what my header mods have done to my power vs a standard exell header. But I know its light and I no longer have any joints to go bad. I will probably make my own header before I run any other exhaust. If I do anything else to mine other than a intake and fuel controler it will be to start forking out stupid money for small gains and get some engine work done. But before I do that we'll see what's coming for 2012 sleds.

As far as my opinion on turbo's or nitrous I don't really feel like a debate on what's best all that matters is run what you feel is best and enjoy it. For me its a NA engine.

Nice work I like it!! Where did you get the muffler?
Got a part number for it that is what i have been shopping for.

I am with ya I am going to just make mine similar to yours but the muffler will be back further. The K&N kit from ulmer I might do the excell because i know drew has one.

Floats for the front and thats all the mods for this year.

hp loss = elevation x 0.03 x hp @ sea level divided by 1000

So at 6000 ft you lose 24.3 hp figuring 135hp stock say you have 180hp at elevation you lose 32.4 hp. so your only at 148hp. Not much really gained as to say a turbo or supecharger. I know you guys in alaska don't ride very hi elevation and thats awesome. Im moving to Juneau next month and am very excited to see how well the ol nytro runs at lower elevation. Im also not trying to justify or argue what is better. I just like to educate people on why boosted sleds perform soo much better then NA. I know alot of people that will say there 2 stroke 180hp sled should beat a low boost 180hp kit 4 stroke because same hp and there lighter. When in actuallity at higher elevation that 180hp sled is really only making 126hp (10k ft)

if 5k was in the budget i would have boost but unfortunately it is not at this time.
i am concerned about turbo lag but i would like to think with engagement rpms at 3500-4000 there should not be a whole lot but i have not ridden one to know.
