2009 Yamaha Nytro MTX 153
I just bought this sled and when hammering on the throttle the exhaust pops. If I'm riding easy it doesn't at all. I have put fresh regular gas in it as the previous owner used premium and I thought that's what it was but it is still doing it. It has a Yosh slip on on it. Help please? Has new plugs.

are you riding at same elevation he was? might be hearing rev limiter.

Welcome to the Nytro pop. It's not a noticeable w a stock exhaust...but w an aftermarket pipe, it's more prevalent. Normal..no loss of power though. Mine does it too w a full Hurricane Hindle Kit

It is in fact the rev limiter. Thanks!!! I am hitting the rev limiter. I have the heel clickers in it but none of the hardware to set it up for the prairies. Any idea where to get it? It's the drag & fly.

if you have a gram scale, you can go to your local hardware store and use washers or heavyer bolt to add tip weight to get it off of the limiter. need the scale to make sure all the weights weigh the same before reinstalling them to help prevent clutch failure.

I'm actually weighing between going back to stock whether it's through a used primary from eBay or I've been talking to Chris at Schmidt Bros. on the comfort clutch. I'm a fairly new rider so I really do not need a performance clutch. Man, what to do?

throw the comfort clutch in it if you want and when you get more used to the sled, you can put the heelclicker set-up back into it. i run the drag n flys in my 2011 apex xtx but mine are not set for top end like most. going to miss them this season in my new sled but they can happen next season or as funds allow.
