I have done a bunch of reading on this forum, and I have a few specific questions, since I have quite a few hours invested and not finding all the answers to questions, although I am positive they are here somewhere.

History: I bought a used 09 RTX se and wanted to ride it without doing any suspention adjustments, thinking that the last owner must have been working on getting it dialed in. I have been riding a 06 Apex RTX with a Hygear mono shock upgrade and love it so much, I kept the sled.

Knowing some of the complaints I have seen with Nytro's, I changed the skis before riding it (wide), and took someones advice and adjusted the sway bar to the forward hole. (I like the USI Triple X skis for the width and their agressiveness. I flipped the stock rubbers and mounted one hole rear of centre)

I bought this sled thinking I wouldnt like it, but I wanted to try one. (A buddy has a Nytro and I wasnt overly impressed). My Apex I have owned since new and like I mentioned before, I LOVE that sled the way I have it set up. That being said, as a sled head, having a new sled to ride really gets the excitement pumping in the early season.

I rode it in the field behind my house, and noticed a lean bog down low when getting on the gas, letting off, and getting on it again quickly. The sled was so quiet, I ordered a slip on exhaust right away. I don't like a lot of noise, but I know there was no way I would enjoy riding the sled and all I could hear is the clutch. After installing the pipe, the lean bog happens every time now.

Question 1: Can I get this bog out with the C.O. adjustment, or will i need to buy a programmer?

First ride: Surprisingly, I loved the seating position and at 5' 11", it is perfect for stand up riding, although I have never been that sort of rider. I was worried about tippiness in the corners and didnt find that issue. I assume the wider skis helped with that situation.

The trails were horrible. Lots of snow, but way too much traffic over the holidays I guess.

There is zero weight transfer which I do not like.

The sled never bottomed. I found the sled had a lot of "action" going on. It seemed to sink into every bump instead of the suspension falling into the ruts. Over the course of the afternoon, I found I was getting tired out from all the movement.

Overall though, there are enough pluses, that I really want to get the sled dialed in rather than selling it off.

I just came from the garage to see how it was set up.

I didn't get the manual with the sled, so excuse my ignorance on a few things..

Front:

The Float X's had the blue knobs at full firmness (I think this is compression) and the floats are set at 65lbs unloaded.

Question 2: Where is the rebound adjustment on the float x's?

Rear:

The frt straps are pulled up to the 3rd hole! (That explains the weight transfer issue)

The centre shock has at least an inch of threads showing. I didn't check the clicks on the adjustments because I don't know which is which.

Question 3: for the 2 skid shocks, can someone explain quickly the adjustments that can be made on the rear shocks. If I read propery, the dial at the top of the shock shaft is rebound? and there is clicker at the bottom with an inner and outer adjustment? Fast and slow speed compression? Which one does what?

The rear most skid shock has a large canister attached and there is adjustments on the shock and on the canister?

The rear strap doen't seem to be pulled up at all.

the torsion springs are set to soft.

I see the XLS file with Nytro set ups, and i will incorporate some of what \i see there.

Interested in hearing some opinions.

I love high speed smooth trails, but often end the day with moguls and stutters.

The sled was working great on the smooth stuff and harsh on the rough stuff. Opposite to what I was expecting.

Here are stock (recommended) setting for a good starting point, or reference point:

(Full hard is all the way clockwise so all settings are clicks out from full hard)

Float x:

90 psi (min 60/ max150)
Comp (Blue knob at top) 10 clicks out
Rebound (Red knob at bottom) 10 clicks out

Center
3.32" of spring showing
Compression 6 clicks out
Rebound 11 clicks out (towards mag side)

Rear
Spring on M
Fast compression (nut) 2 turns out
Slow compression (screw) 6 clicks out
Rebound 11 clicks out (towards PTO side)

The rebound adjusters are the collars that rotate at the top of the shock (when mounted in skid)

RTX Meirda,

I tried to send you pictures of the owners manual that mentions suspension settings but it was not completely legible. The owners manual (part #LIT-12628-02-80) would greatly assist you.

If interested, send me a PM with your e-mail and I can e-mail you the three pages of the owners manual that mentions the suspension settings.

You can download the owner's manual from www.Yamaha-motor.com

In it will explain which dials/knobs does what and how many turns each adjustment has.

Programmer made a big change on my nytro... I can get you a PCV for $250 +/-... pull front limiter strap down 2 holes, rear down 1 hole... adjust front shocks to what you like... I found 65-70 works well with my weight, 6 clicks out. Drives like a dream.
