I've just installed this kit on my Nytro, stretching it from 121"-144" with tip up rails. The kit is really nice and makes the sled work awesome. First ride out I went 65 miles and my hyfax have worn out already towards the front on the rail. I didn't ride any ice or roads that were hard packed, mainly stayed on the trail and powder. Has anyone had a set wear out this fast? Any ideas on what could be wrong? The track is adjusted to what my local yamaha mechanic said. My stock hyfax had 2200 miles on them and they look better than these new ones.

Also has anyone done this extension without putting external drivers in? I dropped 2 teeth on the top sprocket, down to 19 and it seems to work really good. Any other mods I should be doing? I've just never seen a set of sliders wear off so fast.

Track is a 1.75" Back Country fully clipped. I can pull an inch of slack mid track with light pressure.

I have the same kit. Didnt really have any bad wear issues to begin with but I put X wheels on anyways.

How tight do you run your track Supa? I haven't put on the extroverts yet so I can't run it too loose without worrying about it ratcheting.

Loosen the track a lot and make some test runs, hammer the throttle on a surface the track really grabs. If it ratchets tighten a smidge and test. Repeat until it doesn't ratchet.

Or you can loosen in small increments. keep loosening till it ratchets then tighten back up to where it doesn't.

My track hangs at least an inch with 0 pressure. Yamaha instructions make the track too tight IMO.

Also my hyrax wears in the same spot almost to the line then stops. I put about 3k miles on them that way. I changed to duponts this season but really could have kept running the old hyrax.

Thanks for the help Nick. Are you running extrovert drivers?

Nope. You should check the top of the front and rear shocks too to make sure they don't rub on the track after adjusting. If so tighten some more.
