Port-Parts said:In regards to the 2010 lower ball joints they now have a flanged collar that rides inside the ball joint where the bolt goes through. The flanged collars are #31 in the microfiche frame below. So if you order 2010 lower ball joints be sure to get the flanged collar or you will really have some loose joints. LOL
I bought a pair.....they are part #8GK-23579-01 and they are really loose. So I order #31 and that will solve my problem? Or do I need different ball joints for my 2008 MTX???

Jack up the front of your sled so the skis are off the ground.
See if you can wiggle the spindle around, up down, etc.
A new Nytro will have very little play, everything will feel solid.
Check for loose bolts first, but otherwise.
If you can move it all around you have worn ball joints or worn arm bushings.
I found it easier to diagnose worn ball joints with the ski off.

I'll do some chacking to see if I can find any aftermarket heim ends that may be stronger. I have quite a few different ones in stock, but for those of you who arent covered under warranty, it may be an option, but I'm not sure it'd save much money. I have an XTX at the shop, I'll measure 'em up and do some digging..

Just buy the bronze 2-piece bushings for the lower ball joints and be done with them, I have 4 sets sitting at the shop.
