Sled rode real soft and low, So Here is what I found yesterday:
Used the Ohlins 136" preload setting Chart from Toms FAQ section
Rear spring prelaod was set too:
11.25in or 286mm track off ground
10 .18 track on floor no rider wiight
summary suspension was set up for a rider of 130lbs !

Now set :
10.7in or 274mm track off ground
9.33in or 238mm on floor no rider weight
Sag is 1.70in or 43mm with 220 lb rider weight
Sag reading per my manual instead of just reading the lenght of spring
measuring from sping bottom to center of mounting bolt is 1.7in or 43mm

What do you guys think did I do this correctly? should the sled change that much with no rider weight?
Also found 2 bad bearings one upper rear and lower center. I love finding issues and fixing stuff in the confines of my garage!

when you measure just the spring length an you need to sit on it to take the last reading if you are not have gear on find something that weights about 20lbs and you want 40-45mms of sag. most of us order the 7.1 spring if i remember rite your has 6.5 spring also get the shock revaled an you will be a happy rider.

Darv, thanks for the offer, got your PM late last night and didn't want to bother you. My last set of readings was with rider weight for the sag 43mm? one of my questions was the diff between rear lifted and then just sitting no rider, seemed to be quite a differance but I guess what matters is the no load ( Rear lifted measurment and the rider added diff( Sag)
readings are:
10.7in or 274mm track off ground
Sag is 1.70in or 43mm with 220 lb rider weight

The sled feels normal now when I get on it, doesn't just sink at least it just has the right movement when jumping on it!

Bump for input. did I do this right?

yep sounds right.... now drive... and see if you need to fine tune... thats the beauty of these things... they have a very large adjustment range to suit "your" driving style.

Thanks Sherlock29 for responding. I am looking forword to testing but will be a couple weeks, That's why I am trying to get it improved and close to on the fly tunable. I knew it just didn't feel, ride and handle quite right. :jump: :jump: :-o :-o

Bump for any other advice? 1 and 1/2 weeks till my next trip to Millinocket area for ride!

Sled handled and rode much better on hard pack trails after put little less weight transfer. still need to adjust for some more ski pressure or maybe I can now try my 6 in shaper bars? My doolys might be getting worn down some? I plan on getting some sno-trackers this off season or the new tunner ski?
