2010 gt with antirachet sprockets slower ??????

It has been said in here that the ratcheting problem is connected to the rip saw. Any one else have any experience with ratcheting with other track's. I have also read that pulling up the limiter strap one hole helps. I need to do something, With the Yam-Charger i now can't get the track tight enough to eliminate the problem in good hard pack. Thought's? kviper

It's a skid issue. I used a adventure track on my Attack and when the track got loose it would ratchet. The only way to get around it with a stock skid is to use Extroverts.

I'am sure it is a skid issue also but some think it is also related to the rip saw. My theory is the mono has a harsh approach angle resulting is less wrap on the drive's and under hard acceleration the front w arm pushes down and forward resulting in even less wrap on the driver's. By shortening the limiter some it would reduce the amount of drop out of the W arm and would maintain a bit more wrap on the driver's, I realize it would not be much but i think every little bit would help and it will help to maintain a more efficient approach angle. Remember any more than just off the snow with the ski's is wasted energy and less efficient. kviper

Hi Kevin remember the more you tighten the limiter strap the harher it will steer, do know what effects that will have with the snotrackers. I run a 2.86 pitch with doo drivers, and ice ripper xt love the extra speed on the top end, hate the limited traction on take off. i keep the track plenty loose, has never racheted . it is fully clipped the doo drivers are ext. also. It will run with Mikes orange apex , and lots of times its faster on the big end. The track is 137 1 1/4 ripsaw 2.86 pitch fully clipped single ply fits our 136 monos my 2 cents Jeff

Hi Jeff! Shortening the limiter one or two holes should not effect steering because the strap is loose under normal riding and only get's tight as the ski's come off the snow and the W arm move's down and forward limited by the strap. It sounds like the extrovert's have not hurt your performance with the 2.86 pitch track. My track is not that bad yet so i may try to reduce the ratcheting along with a couple other experimental things for one more season. I have not talked to Mike for a while either, Will have to check in and see what's going on up by you guy's. kviper

Im not sure what the deal is...Ive never had a ratcheting problem...attack or xtx....

X2

Only ratcheting problem I've had is from my turbo.

the xtx is a very efficient skid & does not need a driver change. my 08 fx would ratchet even in deep snow with stock drivers

even with a turbo?

Ratcheting has been a problem with certain Yamaha's for a long time. A hole shot set up with good hook and the problem child's will show up> kviper
