I have a new mtx 162 se, minor mods, excell full exhaust, rox riser, snow eliminators. Was out in colorado this last week and had a little puff or back fire in the mid range (4500-6000rpm). It would only do it when cruising about half throttle, any one have suggestions or experienced this them self???

I have an 08 with the Excell full exhaust and noticed when i am carving at 5000/6000 rpm range for an extended period and let off the throttle - i get a similar burp. I am considering getting a PowerCommander.

My TORS is bypassed.

damonjones not sure what you mean by adjust CO?? could you explain a little more, thanks.

Read this post and do a search on it. It's the EFI equivilent to jetting. Usually when you improve air flow through the motor (your exhaust mod) you need more fuel to go with it or you are running lean. A quick look at the plugs will help clue you in. A lean motor will pop, usually on throttle up or down but you can see it other times as well. My guess would be you need to go +2 to +3 on the CO settings (there are 3, one for each cylinder). Don't go too high or you will go rich and foul plugs and lose some top end. The control modules mentioned will alow even finer tuning at different RPM ranges. The CO adjustment is a blanket change across all RPM's. So if you can't tune it out with CO or you sacrifice performance doing so the control moduals are the way to go. Here is the link.
