2010 Nitro XTX vs 2010 Apex LTX

rhoag, I didn't mean to speak for you, I just wanted to help this guy out and knew your stance on the 2 sleds.

No problem I just wanted to make it clear that they are both great sleds but, for me and my riding the Attack just fits better. I'm not trying to hijack this thread either.... so I felt that since I had both sleds my input may be of value to the thread.

Thank you to everyone for the wealth of information. I'm a little nervous about the motocross type ride and I loved the power of my Attak so I'm leaning that way. I may wait for the 2011's. I have my old Renegade to ride this season if I get a chance. An Apex XTX would be perfect except it wouldn't fit inside my 10 ft. trailer. That is the nice thing about 136's.
One way or another I will be riding a 4 stroke!

The XTX will fit in a 10 foot trailer. I have a 10 foot trailer with an Aero hood and it just fits but, I have to put a towel over the windscreen and the grab bar to protect them if I don't get it centered perfectly.

X2 on fitting trailer... i have a 10ft clamshell in my yard with a summit 144 in it.... fits great... put a xtx in the same trailer..

maybe yamaha will bump the 3cyl power up and we can have a sled that shoots out of the hole and carrys well to top end.... I guess we will all have to wait and see....

He said a Apex XTX. If such a beast did exist it would not fit because the front ends are longer on the Apex. Or I should say the front of the Nytro's are stubby.

That's great to know an XTX will fit in my trailer. When I said Apex XTX I just meant if they build one next year.
Does the Nytro XTX have any of the ride charactoristics of the standard Phazer? If it does I would definitely go with the Apex LTX. I rode a Phazer last season for about an hour and did not feel confident on it at all. My Attak instilled confidence from the second I got on.

Mighty is right if you leave it stock. I actually had to go buy some warm boots for the first time ever when I started riding the XTX. I feel the inside ski lift is worse on the XTX then the Attack. With that said... some guys can set them up and they can make it rail..also a taller shield and side deflectors fixes the cold issue.

I came very close to pulling the trigger on an XTX this fall. I compared to the APEX LTX GT, talked to alot of people and did the research. I guess it boiled down to two things that put me on the Apex over the XTX. 1.) XTX needs the higher windshield and even at that, I'm not convinced it's as warm as the APEX, you're just too exposed with that riding position. 2.) Stiffness of the suspension - the XTX is set up to hammer moguls and that means stiffness in the suspension. I will avoid trails if at all possible on days when you have miles and miles of 2 ft. moguls. Normally I'm having my dinner and drinks by then. So the XTX does not really fit my style.

If you are an agressive trail rider, attacking moguls and beat up trails all day at high speed, and spend 30 - 40% of your time off trail, the XTX is for you.
