So the Vector motor is the same motor thats in the venture GT and TF. Does it also have the same engine braking effect the the two ups have, which is major?

My 2010 vector has very little engine braking. Seems to be just like all the 2 strokes ive had.

X2.
There is very little engine braking at all. I think Yamaha got it as close to a 2-stroke feel as possible. I'm actually having to re-teach myself on my Vector because there is so little. I had gotten used to my '06 Nytro & '08 Nytro where brake use was pretty much non-existant.
I can't speak for the the 2010 Nytros, but coming off an '08 myself & riding a friends '09, it's NOTHING like the Nytros.

There is engine braking but like others have said it is less than the past Apex I owned.

A relative traded his 2007 Vector GT for the new 2010 and I have ridden both. It was weird because I truly remember how much his old one engine braked. I rode his new one on the trail this year hopping off my Viper........then back to my Viper and it wasn't until the next day I even gave this subject a thought. I remember thinking, gee I never really noticed any engine braking switching from mine to his. It coasted alot better.
