2010 Vector GT oil leaking

Pushing it out of where that is the question. Ha...I just came back from a 104 mile ride. From -5 F to 28 f. I'll know better tomorrow or Saturday as it will take time to drip onto trailer floor. I haven't seen any dripping in the snow while stopped or parked for lunch today. Sitting in the trailer after a ride is when I noticed it.
Maybe the seals or a seal like on the oil filter need to get warmed up.

I just remembered how the Challanger Space shuttle had the Orings shrink in the cold and didn't seal good so it blew up. I saw the movie about the guy who figured it out recently. Good movie. In front of congress investigation committee he had the o ring in a glass of ice cubes and took it out to show what cold did to it. So they came out with Vitron I believe for the shuttle. Maybe the oil filter oring. Mine was a KN with the nut on the face.

I would think some one might know better if the cold does affect these 3 cylinder Vectors and what way. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Mine leaks at 18 below F

In January when it was super cold I had a couple drips

This past weekend super cold again.
Each day when I first started it, it dripped like mad, after it warmed up a bit the drips stopped.

Next morning, -18 F, same thing, next morning again

I figure its so cold the pressure is pushing it out a bit till things warm up

3rd morning the damned power steering went off for 50 miles again too

2012 vector lTX with 6,000 miles now

- 5 F barely bothered it...the -18 was what got it.

I'm sure its the o-ring shrinking...I may know this weekend because its only supposed to be zero to start out

Yea we rode in - 14 temps as well. It has been record breaking temps here as well. I tightened the filter good as the other nuts, etc. when I did the oil change.

Well...We did 103 miles over hills and dales and no leaks. There must of been an ice issue in the system if that's possible and or filter leaking at o ring. Or the cold like mentioned above. It was about 3 deg when we left the trail head. And warmed up to the 20's so it was a nice day.

Same issue here . . .2010 Vector

2010 Vector, 3900 mi. Saw oil leaking from the bellypan, about in the middle. Dealer determined it was from the airbox, there's a tube designed to extract any oil that accumulates there. Cleaned everything out and it's good to go.
I think I may have had too much oil to begin with (my fault, no excuses and no more info on that :)) maybe 1/2 inch over the 'full' mark on the dipstick. The excess must have blown into the airbox and Yamaha smartly provides a way to evacuate it.

I was in Quebec 2 weeks ago. Glad it didn't happen there. Imagine being in 'No-Man's Land' (100 mi from anything)and seeing oil leaking? Yikes!

Everyone says this sled is bulletproof. I certainly hope so!
