It’s possible, but very difficult. The rear motor mounting “bar” needs to be removed and the engine rocked forward as far as possible. I thing @grizztracks has a right up about it, try a search.

A couple ways to do it.
If you have the exhaust off, you can leave the rear mount bolt in. Remove the front two mount bolts. You pivot the engine enough to remove starter.
If the exhaust is on, support the engine from above, remove all the engine bolts, then the starter can be removed.
