2011 apex seat removal

What is the procedure for removing the seat on a 2011 Apex? I have heard it was different from the 2006 model. So I didn't know what the different procedure entailed. I have a fairly new 2011 and I want to remove the seat and get to the exhaust components. Also does anybody have any experience with the skinz brand skid plates? I'm thinking of installing one of those. Thanks
