2011 APEX XTX
First off I am new to the world of Yamaha 4 Strokes, a Polaris 2 Stroke convert. I just recently purchased a 2011 Apex XTX and a 2012 RS Vector LTX both with less than 1400 miles and very clean. Now I cant wait for winter!
I noticed the other day when I started the Apex that the Yellow warning light was blinking and it wasn't during any prior startups i had done. In the process of "getting to know" my way around the sled I did have the air box removed and was wondering if maybe I didn't get it back on properly prior to restarting it and maybe that had something to do with the warning light being triggered. Since I am so new to the Yamaha world I have no idea if I can read the code myself and or how to reset the computer. Assuming the warning light is realated to my possibly not getting the air box seated properly the first time.
Any insight you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

the code would be diplayed on the dash it will go off on its own once problem is corrected. most likely you didnt plug in the sensor on the right side of the air box right while sitting on the machine I know this because i did the same thing when i did my first oil change. also it could be low fuel if so the dash will read f-xxprolly f-00 as you have no miles on since the light came on as the newer yamahs keep track of how many miles you put on after the gas light comes on just incase you dont see the light right away

Going to go out on a limb here and say that's probably the problem since I didn't realize there was a sensor connected to the airbox to begin with. Hopefully I didn't damage the sensor but oh well. In looking at a service manual I downloaded it looks like the sensor is on the left side of the airbox, sitting on the sled?
Thank you for your help!

This thread is what Totally Yamaha is all about and more !no prob glad it was simple
I bought a new 2015 Apex XTX , and did most of all the member suggested upgrades , (star kit , lake effect riser , WRPseat , hifax saver wheel kit , heavy duty spring , stabilizer bar , and suggested setting changes ,..) Before I rode it once !
Then I tweaked it early in the season , with help from members , and had the best riding season ever !
I have been riding Yamaha 4 strokes since day one , so I can only imagine how helpful all the feedback is to newbies .
