Finally got my 2011 XTX out of the garage and onto the trails...
I got a little worried after hearing how everyone had to adjust this, remove this, fix this, add this on previous model XTXs. I have never owned a 4-stroke or a more rider forward type of sled before so everything is new to me.
I do not think I will to do much adjusting to the suspension (if any). It felt really good and handled well. It did not feel twitchy or anything. It was a pretty cold day (-22 C) and the heat grips felt good and so did the thumb warmer.
The only thing I would improve right now would be the skiis in the powder. I think might be considering something like the powderhounds to improve this. The stock skiis didn't float well but on the trail they were not that bad.
Anyone else have any comments on their 2011 XTX?

Good deal glad you liked it. Ski choices are unlimited for sure!
I had the same first experience with my XTX's. But my 09's needed the Yamahaheater, and I put on Simmons Gen1 skis. I love them.

I felt the same way when I first got my Nytro, but once the honeymoon was over, then I began to notice the shortcomings that the Nytro had, ie. hand warmers, handling, idlers etc.
That being said, apparently Yamaha has improved the hand warmers and I'm sure there were other areas that were addressed as well.
I'd like to see an "end of year" review in order to give it a fairer assessment of how you feel about your Nytro.
I really do like the way my sled now handles and performs, especially since I've tweaked and modded my sled to where I'm comfortable with the way it is now. I can't see me adding anything more to it...hmm now what do with the extra money I'm saving from here on in? A newer sled perhaps?

Love my Nytro!!!
I love my 08, over the summer I put on a set of Sly Dog skis with 4" carbides, Hindle exhaust header, 1.360 Cobra Track, non-studded, and a Team-Tied clutch kit. Put all the suspension settings back to stock, and coupler on hard. I weight in at 235lbs with gear on and it is the best the sled has been to date. Light steering goes where it is pointed, floats on the powder, and stops nicely. Very Happy!!
