d&dclaims 163 hp with powercomander with air box mod using bullseyeairbox vents i believe it was dyoned at dynoteck looking to purchase powercomander v and have air box mods done ulmer also has similar any one using d&d set up would appreciate any advice

Ulmer has similar dyno proven results on his kit, he supports the site here, and is one helluva nice guy. Give Mr Ulmer a call!

Where was it dynoed? What day, what operator, etc, etc..... Baseline then add mods all at the same time like Allen Ulmer did is where you see real gains.

Just heard back from Ulmers, and ordered my lid and controller up. Said that more controllers won't be in till Wednesday, next week.

i went with the airbox mod and pcv, installed this summer. I know my '11 was a dog compared to my 07 with clutching, airbox mod, pc3 and exhaust in the beginning but towards the end of the year it felt noticeably faster once i hit almost 2000kms and it broke in. I could tell it broke in as my clutching made me hit the rev limiter every time. Adjusted the clutch and now that Ive added a pcv and airbox mod in the summer I should be at least 165hp no matter what now.

Yamaha wouldnt lie about there hp claims now would they? lol

My stock clutching I could never get over 10k rpms and I wasnt waiting till I broke in so I fixed that problem right away. I know before I broke in and with my clutching I had no problem beating my uncles 2011 crossfire 800 with 1200kms on it.

We weigh the same and he took me by a length off the start and I reeled him in right after that to be a couple lengths out and still pulling by an eighth of a mile. The 144 helps get the power down but I think the best mod would be going to 1-1/2 lug or even 1-3/4" and take it down a couple teeth. Theyre high anyways.
