Don`t mind the name, making the jump after all the horror stories coming from all the forums from AC riders!!! Very difficult and heartbreaking to change over. I am from the ny area down state and sold my crossfire700 2 years ago due to lack of snow and work. I am back in the game and have done a ton of research and thanks to sledders like you it's been helpful. I have come across a good buy on these sleds above and figure I can perform the proper mods the way I want at the lower price. Anyone try both sleds? Don't have any demo rides from the city area. I have a cabin that has snow trails only upstate. Do go off trail a little but mostly trail riding, especially up in the Tughill area. Thanks! Do enjoy when off trail by the cabin. Let It Snow!!!

2 different animals so it depends on how you ride and what you ride on the most?

The XTX's are hard on sliders so either updating the wheels to larger ones or running the new Dupont slides will be in order.

Other than that, wait for more replies or do a bunch of reading on here then decide.

Welcome to the site BTW ;)!

Yeah, i have been consuming any advice I could get. Just wondering if the nytro steering that much of a problem as compared to the apex. Also the difference in speed and handling when putting on better skis. Will be going with studs and either turbo or sp, didnot decide yet.

I sold my Nytro XTX for a 2011 Apex...love the apex motor and Power steering..And.that's about it...I miss my Nytro baldly and if there nothing game changing for 2014 I''ll be back on a Nytro XTX....

I have a 12 Nytro XTX and my brother has a 12 and 13 Apex XTX. The apex has power steering and a motor that pulls forever. You sit a little lower on the apex. He has the dual tuners ski's on the 13 and studs. I have split rail ski's and studs on my Nytro. I'm getting the mcx 180 turbo put on the Nytro now. It handles great with the split rails and I usually ride it like I stole it. People think that looking at the Nytro it would be cold to ride, but it really isn't. I got about 1700 miles on my sliders and now putting on DuPont sliders. Both can be set up to ride good. I went with the Nytro because of handling the nasty Friday and Saturday night trails and still being able to hammer the crap out of it.

No,but I am now in the witness protection and will have to change my monicker,LOL. I really like this forum. A lot of very helpful sledders. Want to say hi to everyone and thanks for the help! I have decided that the Nytro xtx sounds what I am looking for. Hopefully I can get everything going this week! Will try tomorrow as long as work does not interfere. Either way will at least make the call. After I get a ride on the sled I will need help with the new monicker!!! lol.

Tried both of these sleds out today, apex was a leftover 2011 and the nytro was 2013 1.75(factory settings i expect) nytro has very strong bottom end power with decent mid-range and top end considering the 1.75 track, rode very good, loved the seating position, didn't find it to be any colder to ride than the apex.My only complaints would be the push in the turns, and i would have to add a riser. The apex has gobs of power everywhere and the powersteering is great, didn't take me very long to get used to it.The apex was great in the turns, no push at all,but before you got to the turns after a long pull and let off it was all over the place where the nytro stayed planted.I would presume you could dial both of these sleds in to handle the way you wanted, or change the skis. For me i am leaning toward the nytro if yamaha don'
t bring any new iron out for next year.
