Are the copper donuts the way to go,when replacing the donuts? Even though my steering is tight,, may also do the bushings on susp. too. Thoughts and advice appreciated!

Copper donuts
The copper donuts will definitely outlast the stock donuts . What you may find is the ribbed flex extensions right behind the donuts are possibly cracked/broken. Once you get the seat off spray all bolts and nuts with WD40 or Liquid Wrench. They will be extremely tight with some breakage possible upon removal. I'm not sure if the donut failure is a result of wear or the flex pipes flexing to much.
Once you get everything disassembled you can determine whether the copper donut cost is worth it. A big part in the decision making is how long you plan on keeping the sled and how many miles you currently have on it.
I did my daughters '06 Vector GT last spring with 4200 miles on it. I also did my '06 Apex then and it had 7000 miles on it. The Apex miles were all Canadian miles. The '06 Vector GT was purchased used with 3500 miles on it and had been stored outdoors before I bought it. There was some rust on it. Conversely the '06 Apex I bought new and was never stored outdoors and had no rust.
I guess my point is their is not much rhyme or reason as to why the donuts and flex pipes fail. Both sleds were 6 years old when the donuts and flex pipes failed.

Looking at some 2012s w/eps this week. Will do some work if I keep my sled. Like my 2010 Blue a lot though...

I think so and so far they have stood the test of time. If they didn't perform, you'd hear about it on this site.
