yes :4STroke: Itried against my friends etec 800 r.in the start he jumped one sledlength ahead(better gripp) and from that point I start to pass him.at 200M i pass him and he said it was like he let of at that point. :jump:
 
All I know is when it comes to selling a/your sled and retaining its value, Yamaha has everyone beat. So how much does a Yamaha "really" cost because in terms of money you get back from selling it, you get a LOT more back selling a Yamaha.

On a side note, its amazing how many people forget that the apex does not have a turbo on it unlike other snowmobiles out there. Put a turbo on a Apex and holy cow!!!

Apex = insane everything!!!!!!
 
ALL IM SAYING IS THEY ARE WAY CLOSER THAN WHAT THAT ONE RACE SUGGEST.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY A APEX THINKING YOU ARE GOING TO BEAT A 800 ETEC BY 10 SLEDS YOU ARE GOING TO BE DISSAPOINTED.

IT MIGHT HAVE A TOUCH MORE TOP END OVER THE C-NOT BUT NOT MUCH. AND YOU BETTER GET A GOOD JUMP AND HAVE A MILE TO RUN!
THAT WAS ONE RACE OUT OF 50 UP THERE.
 
Do you buy a sled to sell it or ride it? I have yamaha's since 97 not one held a candle to this doo I just bought when it comes to fun factor. What's sad is Yamaha could build a sled that kicks the sht out of this doo in every way possible they just don't care enough about sleds to bother. Now they care so little they are using a cat chassis

checking slider's,boggie wheel's is a minor issue ,compared to checking cheap crank bearing's and worrying about the ticking time bomb going boom after a wide open run for 500ft etec no thank's :yam:

I don't really get your point. Does that somehow have something to do with the resale value of a yamaha? Are you trying to say nobody ever wants to sell a Yamaha because they are so awesome?

I don't get it. Oh well.
 
I like how you BOMB guys trash the yamaha name,well here's a good one for ya. I have Two 2012 E-Tec in my garage now with blown motors. Thats fun factor all right, and my 2006 apex is still going strong Baby.

Just saying I don't care about resale care more about fun factor. I've owned everything Yamaha sells in the 14 lineup including the cat copy and not one held a candle to the doo.

As far as them blowing up goes ya it's concern of mine. I was going to buy a left over apex and bought the doo instead. I'm glad I did its a blast.
 
Well I have no doubt its a fun light sled. However some people are not made of money, and I would say the better investment in the "fun" would be the Yamaha. If you have lots of money to blow, well more power to ya. One of the main reasons I bought my Apex is because I have always had sportbikes, and when I saw the Apex had the R1 motorcycle engine in it, I knew that engine would be indestructible and have 0 if very little issues. If you take care of that engine, god knows how many miles you could put on it. Plus Riding on the logging trails in U.P. Michigan, you don't want any engine issues. Yamaha can build a engine. That is what sold me on the Apex. and hey the power steering has been awesome when riding through the woods like a dirt bike.

I had a deposit on the turbo cat limited.
When I went to pick it up they said that a recall
Needed done on the reverse gear. I went home
And started reading about cats blowing belts
Etc. that changed my mind. Then I had a decision
To make doo etec or apex. Well being that I've had sport
Bikes thru the years I chose the apex.

You made the right choice. The 1100 turbo I ride with has been through 4 belts this season. The belt shield is louvered and acts as a cheese grater when the belt gets slack. Plus the throttle response of the Apex- instantaneous- is in another universe compared with the Cat. The ski-doo guys crack me up with the weight BS. They make it sound like the sled can be pulled out of a ditch with one hand. Unless the sled is 100 pounds, you ain't getting it out by yourself. With the EPS the Apex feels lighter under power. If you compare Yamaha to the other brands its obvious that Cat, Ski-doo, and Polaris are overcharging for their products. The build quality, quality of materials, and workmanship is far superior with the Yamaha. And reliability is not even worth discussing.

And finally the 998cc Genesis is as good as it gets.

So you think it's ok to trash his sled but he can't do the same to you?? lol the pissing matches between brands just makes me laugh.

I owned a 2006 attack and a 2011 apex I loved both sleds. This 2013 doo is a great sled. The ride quality is better then both apex's and its more fun to ride. The apexs were faster I'm pretty sure. Outside of strait line speed the apex has nothing else on this doo

I'm talking about when you ride them. Of course Yamaha builds the highest quality sled. There is no question. But fun to ride not even close.
