Has anyone used the Yamaha Wind Shear Deflectors on their 2011 on up Apexs? Pros and Cons please as I'm thinking of ordering a set. Or if you could recommend a set that will work w/o much interference, as I tried the SMA-8GFHG's that are made for "Most" models, but they contacted the windshield on full turn out. Thanks in advance.

My advice would be the SMA-09HGC's they are by far the most popular out there and they work well to cut the wind and keep your hands warmer on those extra cold days. We also had these on our demo last year and most customers loved them! Hope this helps you out.

Thanks for your input. I can't get a feeling for the size of them, do they fit the sled alright? Thanks again.
While I have no experience with the yami deflectors, I have noticed that you either need a taller bar riser or a shorter windy in order for deflectors not to hit. I put on powermadds with a taller riser and works well. They hit even with a 2 inch rise. 3 inch cleared.

I didn't like them. They hook on the end of the bars with Velcro and it drove me nuts every corner they would get in the way.
I'm doing powermadds with ROX cool snap in extensions

Those are the skins hand guards. I keep a set in my tunnel bag and put them on on realy cold days.

I have those wind shears and they do ok on the newer models but always seem to be in the way. any hand guards you put on will hit at full turn unless you put a riser on and then you are putting your hands further into the wind. what i have found is even thou they do make contact at full turn it didnt matter as i never went full turn unless i was stopped or going real slow and even then it is rare. it never botherd me on the trail on my 07. I think i am going to go back to the hard plastic yamaha hand guards that came stock on the nytro a few years back they were the best for wind protection while staying out of the way.
