- 2013 Nytro xtx
I know this topic has been talked about before, but I was hoping to get a little more in depth answers. I sold my stock 04 F7 sno pro efi to get a new nytro xtx. I want to add the Schmidt bros exhaust, stage 2 clutch, cold air intake, tunnel closer kit, and possibly their wheels kits and primary/secondary machining. After these mods, how would it compare to my F7 as far as low end, mid range, and top end? I was also wondering how these mods influence mpg whether it be good or bad, how easy/hard they are to install, and how it will compare to the new 800s from ski doo, cat, and polaris.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Steve

I can't speak for those specific mods...but can give some insight on some stuff.
You will not likely ever beat an F7 on the top end..I had an 06 F7 Std model that ran 114mph on radar many times...however if you have a Sno Pro big lug track I'll assume you didn't run big mph as that track was known to kill top end...either way..Nytros are not big top end sleds. Bottom end and mid range you will pull an F7 easy, especially with those mods. If you go a bit further with the mods ( full exhaust/airbox or K&Ns ) you will out run an F7 easily in the 1200-1500ft range but it will most likely pull you on a longer run. Poo 800's are not really a challenge unless they have been worked...Cats an Doo 800s are a tough race and require full mods to be truely competative. You have to figure it this way..a fully modded Nytro will make in the 150hp range and an XTX weight 650ish wet...those 800s make 150-160hp and weigh 100lbs less...tough races.
The mods are very easy to install...lots of pics and vids on here to help. I am fully modded and my full mileage is on par with an 800 Etec....other than a shorter range due to the small tank...but if you run small loops...you probably wouldn't notice and difference from stock to modded...I know I don't

I have the SBM tunnel closer kit, nytro dual exhaust, and their stage II clutch kit. The tunnel closer kit fits well with their dual exhaust and will reduce your ice buildup. I installed both of these at the same time while my seat was off. These are both very easy to install. A tunnel closer kit was my 1st add since these nytros accumulate large chunks of ice. The SBM dual exhaust makes my ride alot of fun. I'd say it's one of the quieter slip-ons compared to most, but plenty loud enough. The idle sound is awesome, and it definitely will turn heads as you ride. I've had both of these adds for 3 years. Their stage II clutch kit works as Chris advertises it on his web site. I immediately noticed improvements, especially from engagement through the mid range. Chris supplys detailed instructions on how to install his clutch kit. This requires more precise installation, and Chris will work with you so that you get it installed correctly. I would estimate (although I have not calculated) that my gas mileage has improved with the addition of his clutch kit. You can do a search and find out from other guys who have done the primary clutch machining. Chris Schmidt also offers great customer service.

I've beat my brother's 04 f7 snow pro with my 09 stock xtx. Both where stock with studs f7 had 4k miles xtx 1k. Yes top speed too and before this gets any further same 09 xtx with super rats destroyed 2012 xrs on a lake from start all the way up to top speed. Not trying to start any thing just my experience.

I had both F7 with pipe mod and I had the clutching just right. I have a Nytro XTX with Schmidt Bros. stage 2 clutch kit. Let's just say my Nytro will not run with a well tuned F7...especially if it has any mods. However, the mod's you are putting on should help you beat stock F7's for quite a distance. Either way, you will be much more comfortable!

Thanks for the info guys. The more I read about the intake the less I want to buy it.
