I see doo added another acronym for us to remember, BNBP, short for Bold New Body Panels for the most part. They also upgraded the clutches on the 1200 so they don't blow belts quicker than Yamaha guys burn through sliders. The Summit looks cool but I can see a TON of first year issues with that sled. The dootalk guys seem pretty miffed about the rest of the sleds besides the Summit. I thought for sure this was the year that BRP was going to introduce the Quick Change Engine Mounting System so you can swap out Etec engines in under 15 minutes when it blows.

I don't see any issues here... The r-motion will be on its second year and its really just new plastic and and a new skid for mountain. No new engines. Good lineup for this economy if you ask me. I think the only disappointment was everyone was looking for a new 4 stroke motor.

Agree, and I dont know about the 12's but in Sweden (cold snow) the BRP 11 and before sleds had mayor belt issues. The belts are more than expensive in Sweden. The Injectors seemed to break and many ppl with them took lots of oil (more than 5 % and more close to 10). This is when you driving backcountry and using BRPs Freeride 800 E-Tec or Summit 800 E-Tec. But I also know that lots of the BRP Lynx had the same probs. So the cost is not only for the blown engine. But Doo has the most complete line up.

March 2011 to March 2012. Yamaha wouldn't slap together a boosted sled in one year (less actually). Other brands might bolt-on; not yamaha Pup.

Why not?
It's already a dealer option.
They study those for years.

That said I am not expecting a factory blown sled this year.

Slightly offtopic: When was Jimmy Blaze driving at Yamaha factory team? He told in his blog about Mtn turbo Vector they gave him for a ride ;)

This was back in 2006 when he was freeriding the RS Nytro(and doing backflips on it).He was also the first to backflip a stock phazer moments after seeing the first prototype. The turbo/supercharger builders have been working with yamaha R&D for the past 8 years.
