I had an opportunity to test ride a 14 RTXLE today at a local dealer. The trails were table top smooth and set up really nice in the cold temps. The sled was stock except for doully carbides. Apparently the tech was using it on the weekend and had tinkered with the suspension. I had a really hard time with this sled. It pushed really hard in the corners , and then when it did catch it would just about do a 90 degree into the weeds. I felt like it was going to hi side me in every corner. Several times I would turn around and try the same corner again with different weight distribution or riding technique . Each time I had similair results. Is it me? Or is this sled set up odd? My current sled is a 06 Apex so I know a little bit about high center of gravity and inside ski lift, but this viper was unreal! I am going back next week to try a LTX , which was my 1st choice , but was not available . I was thinking about doing a spring order, but now I am having second thoughts. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks
Thanks

I just wrote on the other post about this same sled. This is not a trail sled. If thats what you want to do dont buy this sled! All your going to do is try and set it up for trail riding which mean soften it up. And that probably wont change much but if it does why buy this sled if your not going to use the suspension? This is a big bump big jump ditch bang sled! And a good race sled if there is a local track by your house. Or if you race.

I wouldn't go off that one ride , it wasn't set up right at all by the sounds of it , I'm sure you had to set up you sled you ride now to handle the way you wanted it to , so maybe have them pull the limiter up one hole and try that , I will say these sleds are great handling sleds
I like alittle push in the corners and steer with the rear by letting it slide out , so give it another shot and have them adjust stuff for you .

No it was never my plan to purchase thr RTXLE , it was the only model available to demo today. Just trying to figure out how much of what I experienced is setup related.

I think he means RTX SE because it's a 14 not a 15

Sounds like bad set up to me. Ive driven a good set up viper ltx (not mine) with axis shocks and c&a skis xtx and there wasn't any that that sled couldn't take that I had to throw at it! Now my stock viper that thing will wear the living sh!t out of you! Stock skis are poop, major darting, push and unpredictable bite in corners, hope the tuner skis will fix some of that on '15.

Actually I am trying to determine how much of what I experienced is a stock viper trait(any model) VS a RTXLE trait, VS how the tech had that particular sled set up. After reading the posts here, I think it was a little of each. Stock ski's, uncoupled RTX skid, and set up stiff for a heavy tech using the sled last weekend.
I am looking forward to trying the LTX and Dx models to confirm.
Interesting my battery was dead in my apex so I took my wife's 02 viper out for a rip with friends last night .I forgot how much That thing rails in the smooth twisties. I have tuner skis on it , and it was cutting through the corners like a Olympic bob sled.......about as much fun in the moguls/trash as a bob sled however.....; ) ahhh that old pro action skid....
