Hey there. Got the new red gasket but what am I missing here? I'm trying to install and slip it in nice and leatly without stretching, but ending up with 3/4 -1" of extra with no groove left to insert it .....know what I mean ?

What's the trick? New unopened package with right part number on it . 8JP-G7558-02-00...

Any advice is misch appreciated

EDIT - was rushing a bit and then on the 3rd attempt I flipped it and noticed there is a little "^" groove thing along the whole seal. With this pointed outwards, the whole seal just drops in and fits ok. Hopefully this helps someone else . Didn't help that my seal came all "scrunched" up and almost out of form so to speak.

DO NOT cut it. These things will contract and expand slightly. Chain case gets warm. Heat cycled.
Start in one spot and kind of push it towards the area you started in.. Hard to explain but your trying to bunch/push towards the section you started on. I might have used hot water to soften it up and then as I said try to keep pushing it towards the section that's already in the groove. Having a hard time explaining. Sorry. You cant just push it in. Work it . You have it stretched

Hot water soften up some. Keep trying to scrunch it smaller towards the area you started in.. Glad you got it. I have had issues also. Once you get a feel for it and get it its easier the next time or ten.

It was weird, not sure how one way I was left with an inch of slack, then flipped it and dropped right in. Perhaps I was pushing in and stretching it a bit on the first couple attempts, but I was really trying to be cautious not to do that.
