I would wait and see what skis the 2018 models get fitted with. You 2018 guys may get lucky with other type skis?

But yeah if they get the Tuners again you will be looking for the alternative. My dealer had told me to put a set of Snow Trackers on mine. That was his recommendation, so I ordered a set. They were wrong set and I would have had to wait for another shipment which was 2-3 weeks out, so I chose the XS Curves with Woodys Slim Jims. Blue ones are a good match for my sled color.

Also a post on this site about using the Doo pilot skis, can't miss that post, I think it grew into over 20 pages. Many love those. But either way, plenty of time and many topics on skis for your new sidewinder. Happy reading!!

I'm happy with my Curve xs skis on my Sidewinder, they greatly improved the comfort and handling for me especially in loose snow condition. I have them setup with 6" slim jims.

For the money you can't go wrong with 5.7s loaded up especially if just trail riding. Cheap!

Mine will get a ski delete/credit when it gets built....As my 6.9 pilots will come off my 1200 and live on the SW for 18.

Most dealers would/should allow for a swapout to, at minimum, the pilot 5.7 "kit" which is 249, but typically sold for 199 by many places. Pilot 6.9s will be abit more, but far cheaper then any aftermarket ski with IMO better handling.

NEW Snowtrackers specific for 5he sidewinder will be available in the fall. I was lucky to get a set from fabricator, they are different, didn't get a chance to try them out but he tested all winter with several sw owners and has come to the final product design.

Yes that would be nice, Even better if they allowed you to build your sled just the way you want it. Color, track, skis, shocks, windshield, etc.(A-La Carte)

I had tried to add a different track and windshield when I ordered my 2017 LE last year. That was a no go. Was told that take offs are a loosing proposition for them whereas if they did it for one they would have to do it for all, plus storing take offs is a problem. If it was done for sleds it would also be allowed for side by sides. They have been there and will not make that mistake again.

Let's face it! the sled market has been falling off for years whereas the Side By Side market is booming and growing more and more each year, and they do not allow for take offs on those either.

Have heard some positives about the Snow Trackers, "Easier steering, not much darting and makes the tuners actually turn in snow.

Would be fun and interesting to try acouple of ski set ups back to back for comparitive reasons.

I do know that the curves work in all snow conditions, whereas the stock skis work on nothing as far as I am concerned. The worst ski ever for me, in it's stock form.

Dealer paid me for factory track although it was well in their favor. Snowtrackers on my MTX skis were as easy as power steering but not enough bite. I hope the new Snowtrackers work Ok then maybe I could get some money for my untouched Tuner 3s.
