I just replaced the PTO bearing in my Viper. While it was apart I thoroughly cleaned the splines on the crank and stub shaft and applied a sealant used by Toyota for their transmissions and transfer cases. It is like RTV but different, heavier. Not available in stores. I know some have used RTV without success but I am going to give this stuff a try as I have used it on driveshaft splines before .
