Saturday was not in Timmins but northern part of Quebec, Was only -21 celcius (no issues, mine was first start). Sunday was -30 celciusStarted on second try Saturday morning
Like I said All 3 machines did the identical thing... on Sunday

I don't think they are trying to address that. More likely trying to eliminate the chance of a kickback, which was more of a viper problem, not winders.Maybe they are addressing the stuck relay issue that leaves the starter stuck on until it burns up. So not a bad idea as I see it but it needed a five second delay.
My truck and also my wife's vehicle are like this, so maybe they are just getting with the times.

I agree, my pickup is also like this..
Only wish Yamaha would of added an extra second or so of cranking time for the cold mornings.

The key on my 17 stuck in the start position last Friday night and I didn't realize it. Took out the starter then the entire charging system. Sled died 2 miles from the hotel when I was by myself. Maybe that has happened to more than a few people and this is their fix for it.
