2020 GT windshield

I have seen mirrors added to the extra tall windshield. They do have them. I was told by a friend though that they can add the mirrors from the picture above to your Extra Tall windshield. He said Woodys in Topsham could do it.

Thanks but the more I think about it now I think I might pass I thought it was clamps ...I'm not drilling through the windshield

Stock GT windshield for 2020 wont accommodate mirrors.

Accessory windshield was designed for mirrors and has pre-marked dimples for mirror installation. The windshield is a thicker poly-carbonate designed to reduce vibration in the mirrors when installed.

US Part numbers:
Windshield- SMA-8LR96-30-SM
Mirrors- 8LJ-F62A0-01-00
Mirror Mount Kit- SMA-8LJMR-AD-KT

These mirrors do fit the 2020 ltx gt, I’ve seen 4 this year, 1 in Ontario and 3 in Quebec. You don’t have the dimples to drill but if you make a paper template and position the mirrors correctly they will work.

I only change the windshield as my sled wouldn’t fit in my Triton trailer with the stock 2020 windshield. Like I said above the mirrors I have in the pic below will fit the stock 2020 windshield.

Complain to Yamaha not the dealer. The dealer didn’t design or build the sled. I guess you could ask the dealer to convey your concerns to the factory rep. Just remember your dealer can’t control how the factory accessorized the sled

I realize that....but mine is S-TX (touring) mirrors make little more sense with somebody on the back, and I don't see them on the 2021 either

thanks Putz, I didn't know they didn't come with mirrors...seems odd though..like I said..we have to pimp them out regardless

agree...my dealer as I said has been pretty good to me...actually the dealer has been excellent to me...first time I buy a new sled...the 2016 venture came with 32 miles on it and had the mirrors on it.

Wondered if your getting any more accessories...

I'll write the email tonight, .. no Bruins/Sox
I heard a rumor that if the NHL cancels the rest of the season the Bruins will be awarded the Stanley Cup as they have the best record..we had tickets to go to tonights game but...
before you write the letter to Yamaha you may want to read the above words from Putz...might explain why they don't put on mirrors...I find it odd Yamaha doesn't as it is a safety feature...

race24 and Fabio, I'm assuming you guys have the medium windshield...does it break the wind as well as the stock shield?

I am 6 foot 5 tall. It doesnt work as well as the extra tall windshield. However the extra tall makes the snow come back into the dash and against your back. The way the wind rolls behind it is weird. I bought an Oxygen helmet and it was so warm that I dont mind a little colder air on my helmet. I do like the mirrors though.

thanks good info. it makes me wonder though, the Venture tf I got rid of has a very large windshield, maybe that was contributing to air pressure change behind the shield that created the drone sound between 32-38mph..like the drone when the window is open on a car.
my buddy told me he rode in Millinocket over the weekend and the trails were not bad...there might be snow up there this week and right now forecasting rain on Friday but might turn out snow...might get some more riding in before its over.
I can't say I have the snow coming around and getting on the dash...

I really wanted to keep the stock windshield on just because of the fridge temps up in northern Ontario and Quebec but I can’t close the lid on my trailer.

With the medium sport windshield I do feel quite a bit of wind from my chest up, I wear a titan helmet and I don’t feel any wind coming in just feel it against my body and pushing against my helmet at high speeds.

I called Yamaha (powersports cust. service) and suggested that as a minimum my 2-up machine should fitted with at least removable mirrors... she said thank you very much, click
I'll reinforce it if I get a survey with my new sled...

I’m on your side on this but unfortunately I don’t think you will get anywhere with this, the sleds should come with mirrors but they don’t. I had to add the mirrors as they are mandatory in Quebec but I also wouldn’t be without them.
