No Spring preview release dates, none of the traditional venues booked and no rumours? At the last Toronto Powersports Show (October 2019), I believe Jaret told me that he was going to Los Angeles to visit a design agency to pick the colours for the 2021's and 2022's. Perhaps he could weigh in on what 2022 holds ?

Funny you ask this, I was just thinking about if totally Yamaha had a thread started yet on the 2022s and how I haven’t been on here in months. Thought, what the hell might as well check lol!
I hope they have something good coming, but hey, we’ve all been hoping for like 6-7yrs now and haven’t seen an all new Yamaha sled yet. I’ll keep dreaming!

Something new will just cost us more money.. I’m just starting to enjoy my new SS tune on my sidewinder, when there’s sleds at a distance just a tap of the throttle and it reels them in like using a musky rod for perch fishing lol.. what else do we want or need.. let’s enjoy what we have now..

It is going to take a leap forward in suspension technology to get people excited.

Artic Cat is still winning races in sno cross and cross country with an out dated chassis I'm not sure what you mean by leap forward in suspension technology. I think the pro cross is as good as anything out there. I switched off with my buddy and rode his 850 Doo this last weekend and I couldn't wait to get back on my Winder the only thing is he didn't want to give it up.

What I mean is there going to have to a leap in suspension technology for me to buy new or get others excited. I agree about the Procross chassis, it is really good. BUT you cant be putting the same thing out there and expect to gain on your rivals.

I think they just use their r1-r6 gauge maybe but they need to revamp something in the 80-100-120hp class. And with this covid bs sucking up every bit of inventory in the whole country that should help.
I do like the stealth controls and the new sidewinders for ride and handle a lot diff than my 18. The stryke ski I’ve heard lots of positives on. I think a solid gauge package would make it plenty relevant in the world of sleds.
That said I just think you will see a trail version of the 600 and 800 mountain max for this year and some fancy new colors.

Personal preference I guess you couldn't give me an Apex I switch brands if I had to drive one of those again.

2021 sidewinder srx
Owning both i think the sidewinder all around is more comfortable. But you cant knock the apex it is definitely a fun machine. If yamaha never came out with the sidewinder we all would be on an apex. Speed is an addiction.

Why does every one of these kinds posts have to turn into an Apex vs the world. I understand that some guys don't feel the need to up grade that's all good but let's face it what does the Apex have to offer other than the motor. The rest of the sled is out to pasture and as far as that goes the suspension never was any good. I have owned 3 of them 2006,8, and an 11 Im a die hard Yamaha guy so I still rode them while everyone else in my group was on different manufacturers sled with a way better suspension. I was to bull headed back then to even look at any thing else because I bled blue. Well after buying a Viper in 2014 I knew right away what i was missing the whole time. This is all my personal opinion and I'm not trying to start a big battle here but come on when someone asks about a 2022 snowmobile and the Apex pops up give it a rest

and I disagree about the Apex... The Procross/sidewinder/TCAT is way ahead of the Apex in mostly every category. And I couldn't wait to get off the Sidewinder and back on my Apex! Disagree about the pro cross.

And once again a thread on TY turns into an apex vs yamacat debate. Right, wrong, or otherwise Yamaha is in bed with cat. It is what it is.
