anyone seen this?

Running it for the first time tonight. Has stock heat shield and insulation on it. Also have the stock heat defector on top with the flap that hangs down.

Ran 80kms round trip tonight. Notice it glowing red hot when stopped. Especially where the flex pipe meets the muffler.

Do you have a tune? With a stock tune you are probably running too lean with that muffler.

This is pretty common, I will see it on my sled after a long pull then let is sit for a bit...also have seen it when cruising at a steady speed for a longer duration. It's not an issue, I'm quite sure the stock muffler will do this as well!
Here is what a customer sent me after a long pull...

Wow,i guess I never looked at this, but not surprised, that muffler makes good power. Speaking of power, how do you like it overall, power, sound performance,i have not heard a word from you siense I sold it to you.

I just ran it for the first time yesterday Pete!! It works good. It’s quite loud. Wasn’t sure about the glowing red, so switched back to hurricane trail muffler today. Now that I’ve heard from some of the guys above including sandale (appreciate that!!). I’ll put it back on and see how much power it makes with some Data logging.

Thank you for the reply. That’s exactly what I saw on mine and was concerned. Thought maybe if it was getting that hot, that maybe there was some restriction somewhere.
Was also concerned about possible fire because it’s wraped with stock insulation and heat shield to make it look factory. I may take that off now.
