Hats off to you. This is very well prepared and easy to understand. I'm going to give this a shot once I get all the parts required.

I'm picking my xtx up from the dealer on the way up... I guess I shoulda bought it last week so I could get the warmers fixed

I just got back from the gaspe, doing 1000 in -45 to -50F!!! i had on thin gloves, and used gauntlets. My hands only got cold 2 or 3 times, bad enough so i had to stop and warmed them on the exhaust and they were fine. I find the thin gloves work better because the little heat the warmers give out can get through the thin gloves a lot better then big thick leather ones. Hope that helps!

You need thin gloves to hold on going 1000. Lots of wind I bet.

Go to http://www.powermadd.com/products/Handg ... etSNO.html
I have these and they are the nicest ones out there IMHO.
As for the dumbo ears...they worked well with temps above zero, but my hands got very cold with anything below that.
As many other people mentioned...I just wish the heat (Little that is there) was consistent. I can go miles and miles without even feeling it, then all of the sudden it comes on for whatever amount of time.

Here's some more gauntlet talk.

I still think the old SkiDoo gauntlets like those in my picture are the best ever. They're effective, easy to mount even over big handlebar pods, and the best part, they roll up into a very small package to stow. The PowerMadd ones that fit over the handguards are nice but very bulky to stow. I ordered some of the new version of the old SkiDoo model number and they're cordura with fake fur inside and they have velcro as well as shock cord closures so fitting over handlebar pods is really simple. Wifey likes 'em, so I get the old discontinued Tricot ones back. The PowerMadds will find a home in the trailer cabinets as spares.
