NO!!! Next topic of discussion.
Supertuner can you please elaborate ? Mcexpress advertises 260 at 12 p.s.i.,I believe these numbers were taken from the dyno runs that they did . 16 p.s.i. on the same turbo system would be nearing 300 h.p. I think , would this not be reliable ? or are there numbers wrong ?

wantboost said:well talked with jeff simons at cpr today and for you guys that said it can't be done your dead wrong.jeff was kind enough to spend 1/2 hour on the phone and pointed me in the right direction.this guy can make 300 hp with no problem at all, and can go up to 550,and it sounds like if you listen to what he tells you to do it can almost be bullet proof.if anybody is looking for a turbo setup, talk with jeff.hopefully soon i too will have a boost gauge and a ton of helmet giggles when i wack the throttle.i quess it just shows that you need to talk with the right people and someone that has a clue on how to make some real hp and this is why he has the record.
Like I said "It all depends on how much money you want to spend"

- None, looking now!
My idea of getting to around 300hp was to get a supercharger plus add a shot of nitrous. That should about do it. I'll investigate more about this combo for next season.

What is there to elaborate on? Advertised HP numbers are simply only numbers. I see lots and lots of engines come into my shop due to the fsct that my inertia engine dyno is not hard on engines, I have seen the best from the best. Not 1 single time have I seen the power the engine builder claims and supposedly dyno'd themselves make!
Like I have stated before...An open challenge to anyone who claims to have this kind of power in a true trail sled on pump fuel with no additives. Come and make 300HP on 12, 15 pounds of boost and the dyno session is on me. They simply don't exist! This is not a "slam" to anyone mind you, I am simply telling the truth.

Freddie's wright
All the sleds with turbos, that I have Installed and ran up on a dyno, at 15lbs boost, have never seen over 265hp, (AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE) TURTLE/////////

I agree 15 lbs won,t get you 300 hp. but the topic was can he get 300 hp. reliably there was no boost pressure or fuel limitations mentioned, so if 15 lbs is 265, and a stock rx1 is 137 hp thats should be close. 137+128=265 so you have 128 hp. from boost 128 divide by 15=8.5hp per. lb of boost, 18x8.5=153, 153+137=290 thats pretty close to 300 and I have ran 18-20 lbs with fual with no problems so I would say the answer is yes.

Re: Freddie's wright
I agree Greg! Been there, done that bought the t-shirt.
The offer still stands to anyone willing to step up! I have made 350+ HP a few times on turbocharged RX1's, but they are definately race only engines.
Enough said!
Snowy1...good deductive reasoning, but I'm afraid that the math has some loopholes. As power goes up...effiency goes down.

305 hp on stock engine and straight race gas with lake racer kit @ 17-18 lbs boost, 550hp with race turbo and mod engine. if you don't mind running race gas you can get away with alot, however i think your better off lowering the compression for extended wide open throttle usage. jeff
