My 2007 Kodiak 450 will operate in 2x4, 4x4 and 4x4 difflock perfectly fine. it will electrically shift in and out of all modes with no problem. the problem is, on my dash cluster, the 4x4 diff lock light is staying on and reading the difflock is always enguaged even when i am in 2x4. also in order to drive the atv above 35 km/h i have to hold in the over ride button. I am guessing is it just a faulty sensor in the transfere case. Has anyone had this problem? any suggestions??? I apreciate the help!

If you're sure the diff is unlocked when the light is still on, then I''m sure the senser is the problem. The quick fix is to either cut one of the wires from your over ride button or join them together. Not sure which, I'm sure someone here will give the correct procedure. The point is to over ride the over ride button. Then the light on your console will still be on but it won't limit your engine revs. The best fix would be to source the problem of the light staying on and fix it! Maybe a trip to the dealer?

A friend of mine with an 07 Grizzly had a similar problem today. The reverse light stayed on and rev limiter kicked in. He stopped and moved the shifter through the gears and then all was well. A few miles later in a really bumpy section of the trail the reverse light came on again along with the rev limiter. He stopped and went through the gears again and all was well. It never did it again all day but we are sure the problem will show up again.

Does anyone know where the reverse sensor is located?
